USA President-elect resigns from Greenfield City Council

Incoming USA President Sheila Gilmour recently announced that she is stepping down as the longest-serving Greenfield City Council member. Speaking to Anthony Cammalleri for the Greenfield Recorder, Gilmour explained that she had taken on a second job due to stagnant wages at UMass leading to struggles balancing her schedule and responsibilities.

“I’m really hoping that we’ll get to a point where wages from one full-time job is enough to support a person,” Gilmour said. “I would love to get to a point where I do have more free time so that I can be more involved, because it shouldn’t be a luxury to be involved in what’s happening in your town.”
