Dear USA members,
On Wednesday, June 24, the USA organizing committee brought your petition, signed by over 450 members, to Ryan Kennedy, an HR Business Partner who is part of the team trying to push Kronos in violation of our contract. He was not there.
HRBPs and management are trying to force us to use strict and bothersome location-tracking software while they continue to have unlimited work from home schedules; when asked during a meeting with the union last week WHAT problem Kronos is intended to solve, management failed to provide any answer. Management is working from different states and time zones while policing your work and stripping your flexibility. Stand with more than 450 of your coworkers by adding your name to the petition today!
Timekeeping is important – we need it to ensure that taxpayer money is being used effectively to support our public schools and colleges. But, the University forcing Kronos against our contract is not about timekeeping. The real reason they want Kronos is to appease their big donor, UKG, wasting taxpayer money and worsening our working lives.
Ryan Kennedy hiding does not deter us. USA is not stopping. We are going to physically deliver this petition to every single decision maker on campus until they respect our contract and our rights. JOIN YOUR COWORKERS IN THIS FIGHT!
Next Tuesday, 6/30 at 12:40 PM, you have a chance to make your voice heard. Management will be hearing our grievance in person at Hampshire House, and we need you there.
When: Tuesday 6/30, 12:40-1:10 PM
Where: Hampshire House
Why: Deliver your petition and show the people breaking your contract that you say NO to Kronos!
RSVP: Email the USA Office, usa@umass.edu
Sign our petition and collect signatures by talking to each other in your departments, buildings, and across campus.
The university has two options. They can cancel the in-person grievance hearing because they know what they are doing is wrong and they do not want to face us. Or they can show up, take the petition, and hear the grievance.
And we are not stopping there. We are going to make sure every decision maker on campus gets this petition, and we are going to keep showing up. You and your coworkers will be crucial in this fight. Share the petition with your coworkers.
Let’s get to 500 signatures and show them that we are only getting stronger!!
Sign the petition here!
USA is not going anywhere until the university admits they are violating our contract and backs off this implementation. When we fight, we win.
