USA Has Endorsed the Fair Wages Now! Campaign
Vote Results and How We’re Going to Fight for Fair Wages
Dear USA member,
The USA Board has certified the results of the Fair Wages Now! campaign endorsement vote. Here are the results:
Question: Do you endorse the MTA Higher Ed Fair Wages Now! campaign that demands a 30% raise over the next 3 years?
Yes: 334
No: 2
Total Responses: 336 / 678 (50% of dues-paying members!)
Note: 28 affirmative votes by non-dues paying members were determined to be ineligible. This did not effect the outcome of the vote.
Congratulations! You and your coworkers have voted to endorse the Fair Wages Now! Campaign.
It’s important to recognize that, in a little over 24 hours, 50% of dues-paying USA members cast their vote. This is an overwhelming level of engagement: you attended the endorsement meeting, you reached out to your coworkers and shared your knowledge of the campaign. This is how collective power is built – and it’s a strong start to our shared demand of Fair Wages Now!
So, what happens next?

Save these dates and make a plan to attend these actions!
October 22 (11am-2pm): Multi-union action on our campuses
Every higher ed local that endorses this campaign will be doing a campus action this week in October! Be a part of the state-wide movement. Stay tuned for more details!
