Most Recent Update: Governor Signs Supplemental Budget!

We received confirmation that the Governor’s supplemental budget bill has been signed into law by Governor Maura Healey, and our contract will be funded in the coming weeks.

USA’s leadership team will continue to discuss the pay adjustment and retro pay with University management. Human Resources will need to work out a pay schedule, and you’ll know as soon as we do.

In the meantime, the Communications Committee developed a cost of living adjustment (COLA) calculator to help you get an estimate of your retro pay from January 2025 onwards. Please note that the figures calculated are only an estimate and the final figures are subject to change due to taxes and deductions. Open the COLA calculator and enter your bi-weekly pre-tax paycheck amount (which can be found on your pay stub in HR Direct) in cell B2 to see your estimate.

We continue to recognize that the increase is far from what you need, and even farther from what you deserve. It’s our hope that this win serves as some measure of relief as we continue to persevere together against the continuing uncertainty and chaos from the federal government, and the arbitrary austerity tactics of the University.

On a final note, this win would not have been possible were it not for you, your coworkers, and the support of our union community. Through rallies, in bargaining, and in your organizing conversations, you pushed management to settle the contract in time.

What’s next?
KRONOS, a timekeeping and location tracking software, is still on the bargaining table! This proposal was moved to a “side table” (a focused, smaller scale negotiation) to avoid mediation and further delaying the cost of living adjustments. These negotiations have not begun yet so stay tuned!

You don’t get the contract you deserve, you get the contract you fight for – get involved!
